I find much of my inspiration outside of the ‘art’ realm and enjoy the challenge of finding ways to bring non-visual disciplines into an aesthetically relevant form.
Therefore, I would consider much of my work a by-product of the reasoning process rather than its goal. Mainly I feel that art, for me and others, is merely an invitation to explore whatever we want however we want to. The re-presentation of the world through visual mediums is unavoidable, thus the artistic process is an unending well of fresh perspectives and new possibilities.
This is, for me, the perfect platform from which to explore the physical universe, subject matters which might be either entrenched in formality or thought to be esoteric, as well as simple everyday experiences.
My goals lie in attempting to give form to such concepts by approaching them from an unusual and materials-based method of inquiry. To understand the internal by giving it a shape and understanding the external by playfully re-arranging it. I consider my art to be the conversion, from one state to another,
of that which everybody experiences.
